Understanding the increased complexity of health care reform is a challenge. OIA is committed to keeping our customers informed on new developments and changes to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Helping our clients by providing clarity with the numerous changes and complexities is our goal.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law by president Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. The Act is a product of the health care reform efforts of the Democratic 111th congress and the Obama administration. The law includes health-related provisions to take effect over the next four years, including expanding Medicaid.
The law, sometimes referred to as Obama Care or ACA (the Affordable Care Act), has made vast changes to the delivery, implementation, and regulatory environment as to how the consumer and provider are required to comply with the law. OIA has made aggressive policy in trying to create clarity for our customers.
